The ceremony was witnessed by Wang Jinquan, President of Krirk University; Wang Changming, Chairman of the Management Board; Chen Qiusheng, Dean of the International College; Zhang Chao, Deputy Director of the International Exchange Office; Shen Qinrong, President of Shaoxing Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine; as well as Shen Lihua, Party Secretary of SXVTC; Yang Yan, College Counselor; Chen Xiaoping, Vice Dean of the Nursing School; and Xu Zefang, Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Center. Participants joined the event online from Shaoxing and Thailand.

The ceremony covered two major initiatives: the launch of the Yueyi Institute of SXVTC at Krirk University, and the establishment of Krirk University’s International Student Training Base at SXVTC. This marks the first time that a local college in Shaoxing has introduced traditional Chinese medicine culture onto a university campus in Thailand.

At the ceremony, Shen Lihua delivered a speech. She stated that as a local vocational college, Shaoxing Vocational and Technical College has long served local economic and social development and shouldered the mission of inheriting and promoting fine traditional Chinese culture. The college integrates discipline development with industrial chains and deepens industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation. In response to the upgrading demands of the health and elderly care industry, the college took the lead among Shaoxing vocational colleges in offering nursing and midwifery programs. It has also built social service platforms such as the Shaoxing Elderly Care and Home Economics Industry College and the Yue Medical Culture Inheritance and Practice Base, aiming to cultivate professionals in health care and inherit Yue Medical culture. The joint establishment of the Yueyi Institute and the International Student Training Base with Krirk University is an important initiative of college to respond to the Belt and Road Initiative and promote cultural exchanges and civilizational mutual learning between China and Thailand.

Shen Qinrong, Representative Inheritor of Zhejiang Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Yue Medical Culture and President of Shaoxing Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, congratulated the founding of the Yueyi Institute and affirmed its great significance. Shaoxing boasts a time-honored traditional Chinese medicine culture known as Yue Medicine. As a distinctive traditional culture in the TCM field, Yue Medical Culture embodies unique values, diagnostic experience and academic thoughts. Possessing important academic and cultural significance, it is a precious heritage of traditional Chinese medicine, a representative brand of Zhejiang TCM, and occupies an important position in the history of Chinese medicine. Thailand also enjoys a long history of traditional medicine and rich health-preservation culture. The joint construction of the Yueyi Institute will facilitate in-depth cooperation between the two institutions in education, academic research and scientific innovation.

Since ancient times, traditional Chinese medicine has served as an important bond for exchanges and cooperation between China and countries along the Silk Road. In recent years, with the advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative, the value of TCM culture has gained increasing recognition worldwide. The founding of the Yueyi Institute at Krirk University helps promote TCM culture and expand exchanges and cooperation between the two institutions in more fields. Both sides will strengthen practical collaboration, build the Yueyi Institute into an important platform for spreading TCM and outstanding Chinese traditional culture, and develop the International Student Training Base into a key venue for people-to-people exchanges. Based on these two cooperation projects, the two institutions will pursue mutual trust and win-win results, enhance China–Thailand friendship, advance international communication, and contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
