On March 27, a four-member delegation led by Dr. Amiya Bhaumik, President of Lincoln University College, Malaysia, together with Assistant President Gaire Kishor and Visiting Professor Wang Yigui, paid an exchange visit to Shaoxing Vocational & Technical College. Shen Lihua, Party Secretary of SXVTC; Chen Jianfang, Vice President; Yang Yan, College Consulor; Xu Zefang, Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Center; Cai Zhirong, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office; and Chen Xiaoping, Vice Dean of the Medical School, warmly received the guests.

At the exchange meeting, Shen Lihua extended a warm welcome to Dr. Amiya Bhaumik and his entourage on behalf of the university. She reviewed the course of cooperation and exchanges between the two institutions, and expressed the hope that both sides would carry out in-depth cooperation in talent training, the development of the Yueyi Institute, and academic research, so as to inject new connotation and vitality into the high-quality development of both institutions.
Amiya Bhaumik thanked the university for the hospitality. He introduced the history, university ranking, school-running philosophy, talent training and international cooperation of Lincoln University College, and hoped that this visit would promote cooperation at multiple levels including junior college, undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs.


The two sides signed agreements and memorandums on the upgrade from junior college to undergraduate program for the Sino-foreign cooperative nursing program, as well as on the training of faculty for research-oriented master’s and doctoral degrees. A ceremony for the reciprocal appointment of part-time professors was held. Lincoln University College appointed Hu Quandong, Director of the Basic Medical Teaching and Research Section of the Medical School, as Adjunct Associate Professor; meanwhile, SXVTC invited Dr. Amiya Bhaumik, President of Lincoln University College, to serve as Visiting Professor. Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on promoting the high-quality development of the Sino-foreign cooperative nursing program, and explored new ideas for cooperation in the fields of health care and elderly care.


Dr. Amiya Bhaumik and his entourage observed on-site classes of the Sino-foreign cooperative nursing program and spoke highly of the teaching quality. He encouraged students to engage actively in class, dare to express their opinions, master professional knowledge, and strive to become medical staff with an international vision.


Teachers and students of the Medical School held a face-to-face exchange session with the delegation. Speeches delivered by student representatives won repeated applause, and Amiya Bhaumik stepped forward many times to shake hands and encourage the students. Li Minyue, teacher of the MedicalSchool, led students of the cooperative nursing program in a disaster first-aid drill. The excellent teamwork between teachers and students received unanimous praise from the guests. Amiya Bhaumik remarked that in the era of globalization, international vision and language competence are the key to success.



During the visit, the delegation viewed the Wuyufeng Calligraphy Exhibition, visited the Industry-Education Integration Complex of the School of Information Engineering, as well as the Nursing Training Center and TCM Training Center of the Medical School. They also experienced appropriate TCM techniques and tasted traditional Chinese medicinal cuisine.
Lincoln University College is a full-time comprehensive higher education institution offering diploma, undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs. It is certified and recognized by the World Health Organization and rated as a 5-star University by the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia. It ranked 199th in the world in 2024. Its majors such as nursing, clinical medicine and stomatological vocational education rank among the top three among private universities in Malaysia.
This exchange has not only advanced deeper cooperation between the two institutions, but also laid a solid foundation for SXVTC to further carry out international education exchanges.
