On the morning of August 12, a total of 38 experts, teachers and student representatives from Taiwan’s National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, National Taichung University of Science and Technology, National Changhua University of Education, Nan Kai University of Technology, Shih Hsin University, and the Chinese Cultural Heritage Conservation Society visited Shaoxing Vocational & Technical College for exchange.

The delegation visited the College’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Museum, Modern Construction Professional Cluster Training Base, Zhejiang Institute of General-purpose Mortar, and Shaoxing Sponge City Industry-College-Research Center, and held a seminar with teachers from the School of Architecture and Design Art.

At the forum, Chen Jianfang, Vice President of Shaoxing Vocational & Technical College, extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation on behalf of the college. He stated that cross-strait exchanges in education and culture have become increasingly frequent. Adhering to an open-running philosophy, SXVTC will actively promote exchanges among young teachers and students from cross-strait institutions through academic seminars, professional competitions, study visits and internships, so as to enhance mutual understanding, promote spiritual bonding and drive integrated development across the strait.

Xu Zefang, Deputy Director of the Party and Administration Office and the International Exchange and Cooperation Center, introduced the SXVTC’s development history, school motto and educational philosophy, discipline layout, landmark achievements, campus culture and aesthetic education construction.

Yu Junyi, Vice Dean of the School of Architecture and Design Art and Person-in-Charge of the Cultural and Creative Professional Cluster, briefed the delegation on the construction and development of the college’s cultural and creative professional cluster.

Professor Lin Landong from National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, head of the delegation, delivered a speech. She noted that the visit aimed to deepen cross-strait cultural exchanges. Most members of the delegation are experts, teachers and students majoring in multimedia design, product design, cultural communication and cultural heritage conservation. She hoped that institutions across the strait could carry out cooperation in related fields and build a platform for youth exchanges. Teachers and students from both sides exchanged views on rural revitalization, cultural and creative design, AI design and design education.

Cross-strait cultures share the same origin and heritage. SXVTC looks forward to welcoming more young people from Taiwan for exchanges, jointly boosting the prosperous development of cross-strait education, and encouraging young people on both sides to learn from each other and forge ahead side by side.
