To broaden students’ global horizons and enhance their professional proficiency and cross-cultural communication competence, a 17-member delegation of teachers and students from the Medical School of our college conducted a study tour in Malaysia from November 18 to November 24.

Lincoln University College, Malaysia held a grand welcome ceremony for the delegation. President Amiya delivered an enthusiastic speech, and gifts were exchanged between the Chinese and Malaysian institutions as a token of friendship.

The delegation attended the 2025 International Conference on Nursing Education and Practice in Putrajaya. They listened to the latest insights shared by experts and scholars from various countries regarding artificial intelligence, smart nursing and future healthcare systems, which greatly broadened their professional vision.

The delegation visited the Clinical Skills Training Center of Lincoln University College and gained an in-depth understanding of the university’s open and inclusive educational philosophy. Chinese and Malaysian teachers and students jointly attended a nursing first-aid course titled Seconds to Save: A Life in Your Hands. Students from both sides conducted interactive demonstrations of first-aid skills. The rigorous operational standards and tacit teamwork of Malaysian students left a deep impression on the visiting delegation.

The delegation visited the “Belt and Road Silk Road Institute—Sino-Malaysia Yueyi Institute” in Zhejiang Province. As a disseminator of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) culture, Teacher Yu Yanwei, majoring in TCM, delivered the 12th lecture— Intensive Training on TCM Appropriate Techniques for Cervical Sub-health. He taught local students practical TCM techniques including scraping therapy and auricular point pressing in a hands-on manner, allowing Chinese and Malaysian teachers and students to experience the unique charm of excellent traditional Chinese culture up close.

At the closing ceremony, Jin Bing, Secretary of the General Party Branch of the Medical School, and Hafitha, Vice President of Lincoln University College, delivered speeches successively. Both sides agreed that this study tour marked a new starting point for deepening friendship and cooperation between the two institutions. Leaders of Lincoln University College presented completion certificates to all participating teachers and students. Zhang Chenlan, a student representative, shared her insights gained from the tour. Chinese and Malaysian teachers and students also put on wonderful cultural performances together.

This study tour is a significant initiative of the Sino-foreign cooperative education program for nursing majors in our college to further promote education internationalization and deepen Sino-foreign cultural and people-to-people exchanges. Through immersive international courses, high-level academic conferences and diverse cultural interactions, students have further expanded their global nursing vision and improved cross-cultural competency. The study tour also provides strong support for comprehensively optimizing the talent training quality of the Sino-foreign cooperative education program.
