Ma Guocan presented plaques to all alliance member units.

Shen Lihua, Party Secretary of SXVTC and Chairman of the Alliance, stated that the college will take this opportunity to jointly cultivate international talents in healthcare and elderly care, develop featured curricula and professional standards, organize training and promotion of appropriate TCM techniques, conduct country-specific research, support enterprises in overseas expansion, and make due contributions to serving the high-quality development of an open economy.

On behalf of all alliance members, Shen Zhenfang delivered a statement. She said the company would give full play to its resource advantages, further deepen school-enterprise cooperation, explore and expand diversified “going global” models through joint efforts, and make greater contributions to the joint construction of the Belt and Road.

Mentor-apprentice inheritance is an important way to follow the growth pattern of TCM talents and cultivate high-caliber professionals in traditional Chinese medicine. A traditional mentor-apprentice initiation ceremony was held for majors of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chinese Materia Medica. Following ancient rituals including presenting apprenticeship letters, paying formal respects, offering tea to mentors and receiving reply letters, the ceremony embodied the spirit of respecting teachers and pursuing knowledge with propriety.

Dr. Hao Juanjuan, the fourth-generation inheritor of Shanghai-Style Xu’s Pediatrics and selected candidate of Zhejiang Green Seedling Program, led all apprentices in taking an oath.

After the ceremony, Professor Lian Jianwei gave a special lecture themed On Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture.

The founding of the Silk Road Institute (Healthcare & Elderly Care) School-Enterprise Co-Construction Alliance represents a major move for college to deepen Belt and Road vocational education cooperation and advance the “going global” strategy of vocational education. The college will continue to explore and expand international exchanges and cooperation, jointly build overseas Yueyi Institute with enterprises, actively apply for the Belt and Road Silk Road Institute—the Sino-Malaysian Yueyi Institute, forge a vocational education brand with local characteristics and advantages, and strive for the high-quality development of vocational education.
