
Yesterday afternoon, theYueyi Institute, jointly established by Shaoxing Vocational & Technical College and Lincoln University College, was officially inaugurated in Malaysia. Meanwhile, theInternational Student Training Baseof Lincoln University College was officially settled at Shaoxing Vocational & Technical College. Amiya Bhaumik, President of Lincoln University College; Datin Hj. Bibi Florina Abdullah, Vice President and Supervisor; Dato’ Mohammed Yusof, Chief Executive Officer; Abu Meithag, Director of International Department; together with Shen Lihua, Party Secretary of SXVTC; Yang Yan, College Consulor; Huang Danwen, Vice Dean of the Nursing School; Xu Zefang, Deputy Director of the International Exchange and cooperation Center; and Chen Xiaoping, Vice Dean of the Nursing School, witnessed the unveiling ceremonies held simultaneously in Malaysia and Shaoxing.

At the ceremony, Shen Lihua introduced the connotation of Yue Medical Culture and the significance of launching the Yueyi Institute in Malaysia. She pointed out that as a famous historical and cultural city in China, Shaoxing boasts profound and distinctive traditional Chinese medicine culture, widely known asYue Medicine. With unique academic and cultural value, Yue Medical Culture is a precious historical heritage of traditional Chinese medicine and was inscribed on the national intangible cultural heritage list in 2021. The establishment of the Yueyi Institute and the International Student Training Base is an important initiative to respond to the Belt and Road Initiative, promote cultural exchanges and civilizational mutual learning between China and Malaysia. It will also greatly advance people-to-people and educational cooperation between the two institutions, and particularly boost the development of the Sino-foreign cooperative nursing program jointly run by the two sides. She hoped that based on the existing cooperative nursing program, both institutions would jointly build the Yueyi Institute into an important window for spreading TCM culture and promoting fine traditional Chinese culture, and develop the International Student Training Base into a key platform for talent cultivation and academic exchange.

Amiya Bhaumik, President of Lincoln University College, stated that the two institutions have long maintained sound cooperation. The joint launch of the Yueyi Institute and the International Student Training Base marks a new milestone in bilateral partnership. Lincoln University College will fully support their construction and make positive contributions to deepening exchanges and cooperation as well as cultivating international talents.

Following the unveiling ceremony, thesecond lecture of the Yueyi Institutewas held. Wang Yongjian, Leader of the TCM Specialty Group at Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Associate Chief Nurse at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, delivered a special lecture entitledCommon TCM Nursing Techniques — Auricular Point Seed Embedding Therapy.Nearly 200 participants attended the lecture online and offline, including college leaders, faculty members of the Nursing School, all students majoring in Chinese Materia Medica, student representatives of the nursing program, and overseas learners from Yueyi Institute in Thailand and Malaysia. The event was also broadcast live online. Wang Yongjian gave a systematic lecture on the origin and development of auricular point pressing, the neurological theory of ear acupoints, detection methods, standard operating procedures, syndrome differentiation for acupoint selection, and clinical application. Combining theoretical knowledge with clinical and daily life cases, the lecture featured rich content, practical expertise and vivid explanation. It enabled all participants to deeply appreciate the profound essence of TCM culture and experience the simplicity, convenience, effectiveness and affordability of characteristic TCM therapies.
This marks the second overseas Yueyi Institute established by SXVTC, following the first one set up at Krirk University in Thailand. The layout of overseas Yueyi Institute in Belt and Road countries is a powerful measure for SXVTC to implement the Belt and Road Initiative, inherit and promote fine traditional Chinese culture, and expand the global influence of Chinese vocational education.
